No worries

Needs to
Well, things have been dismal here since the week before christmas, so I'm working hard at distracting myself...

... by thinking about my trip to Australia! That should bring happy thoughts!

I have realised that some research is needed, and in true nano fashion decided on several DVDs to watch! My original plan was to watch them with friends, but they have run away screaming... *scowls at the cowards huddling behind their PCs* THEY are the ones that gave me 'Sharktopus' and 'Megamind' and 'Rare Exports' (which is surprisingly good to watch, reminds me of Tim Power's 'Declare'...) anyway, yellow tail-turners they are!

To explain, these are the films that are on my list this far:

Mad Max (all of them)
Crocodile Dundee (all of them)
Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Kangaroo Jack (has Christopher Walken!) and sequel
Tank Girl
... and possibly The Rescuers Down Under

That should leave me well grounded, right!
... I'll let you know how that works out...

And being the compulsive reader that I am, I have already read
'The Last Continent' by Sir Terry Pratchett,
'Wirby und Zeus: Entlang Australiens Ostküste' by Michael Wirbitzky and Sascha Zeus
and 'Reise Know-How KulturSchock Australien' (audio) by Elfi H. M. Gilissen.

Have started reading Bill Bryson's 'Down Under' and have Lovecraft's 'The Call of Cthulhu' sitting next to my bed...

Of course I'll go diving, how can I not, so I have also dug out some nice elder signs... (points to icon as well)

hm, this one could make tattoo...

Oh and I got a new swimsuit, black with a skull pattern.

Mission accomplished, feeling much better now!

Priscilla Queen of the Desert is a splendid film, and I think possibly the one from that list that'll give you the most insight into the place...
