Back from hospital
Operated, woken up from general anaesthesia and back home, yay!
Still somewhat out of it... plus hobbling around on crutches for at least 4 weeks...
So, what got repaired was this, FAI , so I won't need a new hip joint in a couple of years *crosses fingers* and *despite nearing 4-O feels too young for a new hip...*
Foolishly I had brought books and thinkfun games to hospital... (what was I thinking?!?!?)
No luck at all, hospitals are NOT a place of quiet and recuperation, very glad to be at my parents now.

exhausted collapse on the terrace (sleep? getting sleep in hospitatl? oh, one of my roommates slept very well, snoring the night away. The other kept complaining, moaning, making a fuss and generally WANTING ATTENION, DAMMIT!!! so no peace or rest for me)
Anyway...
I'm supposed to move my hip/attached leg 'normally' just with out putting more than 20kg pressure on it...
Ha, bloody ha. Yes, I have been crutching over scales to measure the weight I'm putting on my hip. Not being the most coordinated of persons, this is not going all that well.
BUT! Think positive, think positive!
The guineas, Ben and Emma, have turned into outdoorpigs for the summer

*grins* they moved into 'BigBen'. Entrance to the clockwork is diligently guarded by Big Ben ;)
And I have discovered how sooting it is to collapse on the garden terrace and hear nothing but their quiet chewing off to the side...
Today is mother's day in Germany, feeling rather guilty about not being able to 'do' something for my mother. but being an additional burden instead... the walking and standing on crutches has the drawback of not having hands free to do... anything really. (carrying full glasses with your mouth does not work, let me tell you)
But my father's making an effort and showing interest in the garden

and I think there will be pizza and ice cream later...
But I missed the daily_Sharpe week!
