Ah, I was not that happy with it...

I did like the idea of honour and duty the protagonist has, it is a very good characterisation.

Also positive is that the narrative is not as rambling as some of his other works are, while there are flash backs it's not too bad.

For me, drawbacks were 1. that I don't fence, so a movement by movement description of fenching lessons does nothing for me, and 2. that my knowledge of Spanish History is just not that detailed... when teh moment of teh Big Reveal come, I did realise OMG it is teh moment of teh Big Reveal, but it sitll didn't clarify anything...
