Swimming

Yesterday I swam 3 kilometers in the Lahn. It was really fun! Very different from swimming in the pool; the water was so murky I could just about see the crook of my arms. ;)

The current, while not perceptible in the water, must have helped a lot; I swam much faster than I expected, but I lost track of my actual time because I had to help some completely clueless canoeists through a lock. Students nowadays... *shakes head*

Am planing further trips ;) I don't think I can swim the whole course of the river (there are bits that aren't attractive and I don't want to swim through cities) but there should be a lot of nice stretches I can swim *bounce bounce SLPASH*

That is really good - I don't think I'd like to swim our river - the Eden - in fact, I doubt if it's deep enough, or wide enough. But it sounds wonderful - and something to accomplish, even if you skip the city bits, and the boring bits.
