Water damage

You'd think living on a hilly-mountain-type thing, water damage would not be a problem, right?

Exept with the insane weather we've been having, the rain... just came through roof and chimney and wall...

So, while we've spend the last week scraping the wallpaper off the walls

and smoothing and undercoating and leveling the walls

the rain came right through the chimney

and the walls

(so, after dry-out, all the work has to be done again - oh and by the way it turned out that the new radiatiors, which we turned on to sort of heat and dry the room, you know, well... they don't really heat. Unless you count three radiators set on max heating managig to heat the room one degree Celsius warmer than the unheated romm with the window tilted open)

Anyway, and the roof

this is in the 'old' bathroom upstairs, where the lamp started to drip... ok, it's next to the shower, buuut...

On the plus side, we managed to assemble my bed

Will return to it once I'm through telephoning insurance, slaters, heating installers, chimneyman, and have changed around all my appointments for the week...
Do you have any idea how hard it is the get any of them to not only pick up the phone, but to come by on short notice?!? And with 'short' I'm talking about anythin under 8 weeks...

... not having fun.

Water in the right place is lovely
