I really have talent, don't I?
Stumbled across a newish bookseries that builds an awesome world and has some engaging characters, with a small, not very active (any more) fandom.
Unerringly I manage to have unpopular opinons about some key issues...

How stupid is that? Nonono, not saying more.
I think it's an age thing to some extend... as a 40+ woman working a traditionally male job, I have an entirely different concept of political correctness than a 20ish... er... something person. Adding in 'the race thing'(whatever the current politically correct term is... I'm too old for that.

On the other hand, 10 years earlier as a female I wouldn't have been allowed in the building!
So yes, we sometimes see things differently based on our own experiences.
Political correctness is all well and good, and necessary in some areas, but sometimes I'm told by my sons that I've said something I shouldn't have when I honestly intended no disrespect to anyone. It is hard to keep up with the changes in that area.
