*bows*

Funny fact: there was a large group of English divers at the lake!

Really? That's a long way to go. How come it's only 4 degrees in there, by the way? It's 17 in the sea off the south coast of England right now.

Dimictic lakes just don't heat up.

title or description

But it will get warmer in autumn!

Congrats. I am at something around the 160 mark.

What sort of make up are you 666 dives? All freshwater?

Nice Halcyon wing btw :p

Thank you!

No, not all frsh water, I do dive on holiday too!

And I'm sorry to say that it's not mine, it just happened to be in one of the communal Jeeps as I took the pic ;)

Nice, I'm still under 15 dives myself, not counting pool dives.

Well, it took me a loooong time ;)

Soon enough you will notice that your dives are adding up... and you get your next level of certification... and look at your gear and think 'hmm, I really need to upgrade this' ... and all of a sudden you have three-digit numbers of dives...

[identity profile] stripedpony.livejournal.com 2010-08-15 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
The only bit of gear that doesn't need an upgrade is my BCD. Most everything else is 2nd hand and is at least 8-10yrs old. My wetsuit is a good one but it was an elcheapo(45.00 gift) that lacks any elbow/knee pads. It will do for a while but will wear out faster with out the pads. Everything is functional and well maintained so it will last a while.

That's a good way to do it!

I love my old regulator. It has metal Phalanges in it to keep me from getting cotton mouth. Hubby calls me a slobberfish because it makes me drool so much.

That's absolutely amazing!!!!! Congrats times ten!!!!

The reading material on the deco stops is awesome! And very smart. Last deep dive I did, the master/guide had a magnadoodle with him to play games ;) But I've thought of sticking a cheap paperback in my pocket before...I've heard of other divers doing that (as long as you're not ripping and tearing at the pages, and don't mess with it on the surface while it dries, it'll hold up for a little while).

I'm still around 40 something dives (lack of time off work is usually my excuse, that and a lack of dive buddy). But I would love to get up to a number like that someday! You rock!!

Thanks! *grins* I haven't heared of paperbacks, but I know people take magazines... you need something that has pages you can turn with thick gloves, so nice, glossy pages are a plus ;)

Lack of time of work... yeah *sigh*
