Living in the middle of Germany...

... but my parents were born in the War, my father's father never saw his son, my grandparents and my mother fled from the Russians...

My mother is beside herself, struk deeply. And I'm surprised how strongly I, a 'grandchild of the War', am affected.

Never thought this possible. But have gained a completely different understanding of my grandparents, the 'we couldn't stop it' thing.

I can't imagine how this has brought it all back for them, or for you. I know what we went through here at the end of Viet Nam, and what our parents told us from WWII. History repeats, over and over. (((hugs)))
