Yesterday: got up, drove 300km to a job interview, knew within minutes that I would not be willing to work there ever, had to endure the next 4 hours of doing rounds with the vet (our interviews are very hands on), and dear god! I can't believe the way that guy did them... he didn't examine one animal! He could tell by looking at it from afar what was wrong! and the treatments were medieval at best! I can't believe what I saw there...
Anyway, I had to endure, because I needed a signature on that paper from the job center, that I had shown an effort... *screams*
I got my signature and (thank god) he didn't want to employ me either... because I don't have enough experience. Yeah, right. Have I ever mentioned that I've been a Large Animal Vet for 5 years now... But I was SO VERY GLAD that I didn't have to say 'no way in hell' to working there, the job center, you know...
And then he send me off with the advise to take an AI course, because you can't be a vet without... I say that a) you really don't need a course if you know what you are doing inside a cow (I'll spare you the details) and b) a well run veterinary practice employs an AI technician and a claw trimmer to boot.
Drove home again. What a waste of time! I'm angry at myself, I'm usually better at choosing the employers where I actually make an appointment for an interview...
