Whee! We had five minutes of snowing yesterday!

The mailman finally brought the copy of 'Swift and Bold, the 60th Rifles during the Peninsular War' I ordered this summer... one has to admire life's timing.

And I went to the Weihnachtsmarkt in Heidelberg!

I enoy the look, and would happily drink Gluhwein and Lebkuchen - but a couple of hours Christmas shopping in Newcastle set off my crowd-alarms ....

But I love the way they put up stalls round the cathedral - they did that in Aachen and Freiburg too.... Zwei Wurste, einer ohne Zwiebeln, bitte

and books and flowers! ... but I'm afraid Heidelberg's stalls have been taken over by tourist traps...
