Charming parody of the traditional ghost story and a satire of the American way of life. You really want to wring their materialist necks and drown the boys (but I don't like children at the best of times, so I might be a tad prejudiced...)

One thing that bothers me is that a 15-year old girl is referred to as 'little girl' or 'little child'.

Just finished "Sharpe's Fortress" and started "Trafalgar". Though I so should finish Austen's damned "Mansfield Park"... *sigh*. But Sharpe's so much more fun! :D

The Canterville Ghost

I love the film of that with Patrick Stewart in, but I don't know if that's the Wilde version or not having never read it myself. I really should on a read some Wilde next year...

Haven't seen the film... but it's an amusing story. I'll keep my eyes peeled; once you read it, I have questions! For the English native's reaction to the story...
