...since I started the new job...
So: the location is a bit more south, that means I'm closer to my parents (only 380km now). I can do that Fridays after work and be home at 12 or 1am (yay)
My hours are 7 am to 1.30 pm and 2.30 to 7 pm, but that's wishful thinking mostly; I count myself lucky if I have time for an energy bar and a coffee to go at lunchtime, and I'm rarely home before 9. This does pose a slight grocery problem as the supermarkets over here are only open from 8 am to 8 pm...
In addition to normal hours I work one night per week (Wednesday usually) and every other weekend (Friday to Monday, but I get Tuesday afternoon off after that); sadly my pay is all-inclusive and I don't get paid extra for nights and weekends. (Calculating with the official 48-h-week its 8€/hour; but as I'm working more than 48h... *sigh*)
What am doing here?
Well, picture James Herriott with better drugs and equipment! But a lot of things are similar... I do routine surgery (c-sections, displaced abomasum (endoscopic), teat surgery and endoscopy... and the non surgical things like uterine torsions or prolapse, periparturient paresis and metabolic disorders. Basically the only service this praxis doesn't offer is AI and embryo transfer.
