Unexpected hurdles:

'my' pool closed last Sunday, so I went to the pool in the 'big city' (80.000 inhabitants!) half an hour away for training this week. (was very surprised how much more of a struggle swimming is there, different setup)

But

that pool closed for repairs yesterday.

So, when I was planning my vacation, I had thought I'd go swimming in the lakes for training as well this summer.

But

one lake after the other got shut down for swimming, contamination with cyanobacteria.

... so now I have to find out if any of them got opened up again to keep training.

Had not expected that.

A good friend of mine recently had a gram-negative infection, not from cyanobacteria, but they do carry the same sort of bug. He nearly died, in fact, the family had been summoned... luckily he pulled through. Not a risk anyone would want to take so I understand why the lakes are closed although it must be very frustrating for you.
