Hemmoor, near Cuxhaven, North- or rather Wadden Sea coast
So, with my usual talent for self-mutilation, I managed to cut my foot just before leaving. This is a few days later, at the time I had no time to clean it up, so I just put on a sock and shoved it inside my shoes. Hurt. And we were planning that hike... and lugging around 50pounds of didving equipment to and from the lake... not fun.

On my way North, the exhaust pipe fell off my 16-year-old VW transporter. This happens every two or three years, so I know how to fix it with a coke can and some wire so I could get off the Autobahn, but still I had to find someone to weld my exhaust back on. So I took the next exit and slept in front of the first garage I could find and they fixed my car the next morning.
This years group of divers was really good, we had a lot of fun.
Visibility was not as good as the last few years, I did not take any underwater pics, but still better than at home.
And we did the hike. A Wattwanderung, mudflat hiking tour.
You go from Cuxhaven to the little island of Neuwerk, 11km out, at low tide and take a boat back. It's a really nice experience (even when every step hurts because you are a clumsy fool).
about half way, looking back toward Cuxhaven
these things are supposed to save you if you get lost in the fog, or thunder and lightning storms or get surprised by the flood and cut off from land
those little waymarkers are called 'pricks', by the way
you get really, really dirty, of course
just before sunset
the 'Flipper' took us back to Cuxhaven.
generally we had good, dry weather, exept for that one hailstorm (that caught me and two others in the middle of the lake on a paddleboat, because we were hell-bent on doing a boat dive. thunder. lightning. hail. in the water. in the middle of the lake. not fun)
