*brushes off, cleans away dust*

Ok, so, I'm doing additional job training right now (which has the great advantage of getting every weekend off!) but means I spend my time sitting in 'school' again, with tests :/ and class bit***s and all that...

So, we wrote a test yesterday and when our time was up, we were told to grab our stuff and leave the premises, 'cause we were being evacuated, they'd found a bomb.

Er... ??!?!?!!!????!!???!

Ok, the area where our schoolrooms are used to be an airport at the beginning of the 20th century, was used as a military airport during WWII and was later occupied by an US Artillery Group till 2015.

It's being remodelled and rebuild now, and... occasionally they find WWII bombs. There were a couple of air strikes, 90% of the city center was destroyed... apparently they were aiming for the airport as well.

Turns out there were two bombs found just before my training course started, strangely enough somehow that wasn't mentioned to us new trainees...

But... couldn't they have evacuated us before we finished that test?!?!? (I don't think I passed...)

Note to self: do not look at the nano pages again before November, it will just drive you up the walls. DO NOT READ!

I'm never buying another ebook.

Have pretty much all Sharpes and Pratchetts as mobipocket ebooks. Obviously limited by DRM. Amazon bought mobipockt. Can I read my ebooks after transferring them to a new computer? No.

I bought the damn things, but am not allowed to read them, way to go. Never buying another ebook and especially not anything kindle.

No good news on The Hobbit front. An Unexpected Journey is Smilie by GreenSmilies.com.
And 3D is SUCH a PAIN and the tickets were bloody expensive.
On the plus side: no wailing women on the soundtrack.

Ok, nano forums... I can't help myself, I have to share!

Sailing a rigged ship - starts out innocently enough...

Great Driving Roads, GB - for insight into US vs. European ideas of roads, towns and driving...

Schools + Americans in the UK - for the impossibility to turn two taps on...

Yachts: Exclusive european marinas and how to blow one up - because I can't help but wonder: has the op ever actually looked at a map of Europe?

Anyone know where to research white slavery in the 1860s? - for the cherry picking...

And a couple of interesting ones:

Historical Fiction pet peeves - *grins*

Germans and the German flag - has good points and insights

To all my Brit friends: hope you are safe and well. Just watched reports of ever more widening riots in the news. Stay safe and healthy.

Just for the record, the aquarium manager said Denkmal = memorial, not shrine.

Nevertheless...
